In Sanatan tradition, every family carries pitru rin, the debt we owe our ancestors for our life, our name and our values. Shradh and Pind Daan are how that debt is honoured.
श्राद्ध
The word comes from shraddha, faith. Shradh is the offering a family makes, with faith, to its departed elders: water with black sesame (tarpan), food, and prayers led by a purohit.
पिंडदान
Pindas are small offerings of rice or barley flour mixed with sesame, honey and ghee, offered to each ancestor by name and gotra, usually beside a sacred river.
Tristhali Yatra
Tradition names these three tirthas together as Tristhali, the three holiest places for rites for the ancestors. Beginning at the Sangam in Prayagraj, continuing in Kashi and completing the Pind Daan in Gaya is a journey many families plan for years. The Kashi Soul Journey brings all three into three days.

The sixteen days each year set aside for the ancestors, ending on Sarva Pitru Amavasya. We also plan journeys on any tithi through the year.
A glimpse of the three cities
Each city holds a different part of the ritual. Together they complete it.
Day 1Tirthraj, king of tirthas
Here the Ganga, the Yamuna and the unseen Saraswati meet at the Triveni Sangam. Offerings made where the three rivers meet are held to be especially sacred.
You will: take a boat to the Sangam for sankalp, tarpan and Pind Daan on the water.
Day 2Shiva’s own city
One of the oldest living cities in the world, where it is said the soul finds moksha. Its ghats have seen families perform Shradh for thousands of years.
You will: perform Shradh at Pishach Mochan Kund, see the Ganga Aarti and take darshan of Kashi Vishwanath.
Day 3Where Pind Daan is completed
The Vishnupad temple holds the footprint of Lord Vishnu. Tradition tells that Sita offered Pind Daan for King Dasharatha on the banks of the Falgu here.
You will: offer Pind Daan at Vishnupad, on the Falgu and at the Akshayavat tree.

We follow the traditional Tristhali order, Prayagraj → Kashi → Gaya, so each day’s drive stays short and each rite happens at the right hour.
